Ladles Dippers
We stock two types of ladles, general steel casting ladles or bottom pour ladles. The general casting ladles are less expensive. The bottom pour ladles cost more but are self-skimming and pour cleanly from the bottom of the bowl. This provides uniform pour rate and helps to prevent floating surface dross and contaminants from entering the mold cavities. Bottom pour ladle bowls are cast iron and the handles remain cool.
Warning - These are for ladling out of a pot for metals under 1000 F. Do not try to melt metals in these ladles as they will flake and holes will form.
The furnaces that we supply are not for use with Zinc Based Pewter as the zinc will corrode the steel of the pot. Our tin-based pewters are safe for use in these pots.
